The Beaumont Housing Authority provides safe, decent and sanitary affordable housing for low and moderate income families through several programs. Between all of the programs, BHA assists over 3,000 families with affordable housing opportunities.
- Public Housing Program: BHA owns 642 public housing rental units in 7 developments as well as scattered single family homes.
- Housing Choice Voucher Program: Better known as Section 8, BHA currently assists over 1,600 families through this program.
- Section 8 New Construction: Northridge Manor is a Section 8 New Construction development. It is very similar to the Public Housing Program, in which tenants pay 30% of their income for rent.
- Mixed Finance: BHA has collaborated with private investors to build an additional 555 mixed finance units within 5 developments. These units have been funded with non-HUD dollars, through either the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program or through Hurricane Ike CDBG Recovery dollars.
